Hello and Welcome to Bears and Beads
Bears and Beads opened as a home based studio in June 2007, after Di Muller of Bears by Di decided to retire , and I bought over her entire stock .
We are situated in Plumstead in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town .
I am Carol Du Toit , and have been collecting bears for longer than I care to remember.
I started making bears in 1999, under the guidance of Sheila Dau, after a visit to the May Bear fair at Buitenverwachting Wine estate, where I have been exhibiting since 2000.
Yes, our stall is the one with the yellow gazebo and Pooh Bear table cloths !
Together with my daughter Monique, we have also started designing our own patterns.
We also offer a selection of seed beads, a well as hand made necklaces and bracelets.
I have a wonderful client base and enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life. I also offer lessons, but beware, Bear making is addictive - one bear and you are hooked !!!
We have a very wide variety of supplies from soft Synthetic Fabrics, to lovely
South African Loubear Mohair as well as Patterns, Joints, Eyes, Ultra Suede, Needles, Bear wear , Tools and of course bears for adoption !
We also offer a mail order service and will post anything round the corner, round the country or round the world!
